In Ayurveda, foods are categorized by the tridosha system. In Chinese medicine, foods are categorized through Five Elements, having one flavor or a mix of several, and a nature that tends to be hot, cold, warm, or cool, they may also be damp or dry. Balance these types of foods as suited to your constitution.

The jury is still out on GMOs, while the ones that are on the market in the US undergo approval before release, the level of testing needed, as well as the trustworthiness of the bureaus behind the approval is questionable.
